Competency Standards

Engineering Competency Standards are set up to assess the competency of professional engineers, engineering technologists and engineering associates who seek the professional recognition & registration in Australia.

 

Stage 1 Competency Standards are set up for assessing the quality of the undergraduate programs of BE/BTech & Diploma programs. Those references can be utilized as references for accrediting the standards of Technological Universities & Government Technical Colleges in Myanmar.

Engineers Australia has set up four recognition routes to assess the Chartered Professional Engineer.

 

·                     Professional Development Program (PDP)

Suitable if you are seeking a supported staged assessment.

·                     The Professional Development Program (PDP) pathway is open to Graduate Members or higher of Engineers Australia. Participants are sponsored by their employer or can opt to be self-sponsored, making up front payments. PDP participants can submit a draft Engineering Competency Claim for feedback from a National Assessor, and then need to submit their Claims in groups of four our more.

 

·                      

·                     Engineering Competency Report (ECR)

Suitable if you have 3+ years of engineering experience.

·                     The Engineering Competency Report (ECR) pathway is open to full Members of Engineers Australia or non-members who have demonstrated Stage 1 Competency. It is for engineers who are ready to submit their Engineering Competency Report, having had at least three years of engineering experience since graduation

·                     Mature Experienced Engineer (MEE)

May be suitable if you have 15+ years of engineering experience.

The Mature Experienced Engineer (MEE) pathway is open to full Members of Engineers Australia who

·                     Have had at least 15 years of engineering experience since graduation

·                     Have had at least five years of engineering experience in a position of full responsibility

Eligibility will be assessed at the enrolment stage of eChartered.

Engineers Australia has developed two documented accreditation management systems setting out policy, criteria and guidelines for the accreditation of engineering education programs at the level of:

These Accreditation Management Systems defining documents are intended as a resource for engineering education providers in the processes of planning, educational design, program review and continuous quality improvement. They are also intended to provide explicit guidance for the development of submission documentation in preparation for an accreditation visit.

In line with the Stage 1 Competency standard, those Accreditation Management documents are useful for Myanmar Engineering Council in practical accreditation tasks  to accredit the Technological Universities & Government Technical Colleges of Myanmar.
